This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Dipper LLC (together with its affiliates, "Company," "we," or "us"), collects, uses, and maintains, protects, and discloses information from and about you when you download or use any mobile application(s) published by the Company (the "Services").
This Policy applies to information we collect in the Services and on any other websites or apps where this Policy is posted. It does not apply to information processed by third party artificial intelligence software that is integrated into the Services.
By downloading or using the Services, you agree to allow us to collect and process information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the Services.
We obtain information about you through the means discussed below when we provide the Services. The type of information we collect depends on the features you use on the Services. Please note that we need certain types of information to provide the Services to you. If you do not provide us with such information, you may no longer be able to access or use certain Services features.
We may collect information when you use the Services. Information you may provide us includes:
We may automatically collect information about your use of the Services as follows:
Device/Usage Information. We may collect and analyze information, including but not limited to:
We may also track when and how frequently you access or use the Services, including how you engage with or navigate our website or mobile application. We use this information (including the information collected by our third-party service providers) for analytics (including to determine which portions of the Services are used most frequently and what our users like/do not like) and as otherwise described in this Policy.
Cookies and Other Electronic Technologies. We and our third-party service providers may use cookies, clear GIFs, pixel tags, SDKs, and other technologies that help us better understand user behavior, personalize preferences, perform research and analytics, and improve the Services. These technologies, for example, may allow us to tailor the Services to your needs, save your password in password-protected areas, track the pages you visit, help us manage content, and compile statistics about usage of our Services. We also may use these technologies to collect information about your activities over time and across third-party websites, apps, or other online services (behavioral tracking).
We or our third-party service providers may use certain of these technologies in emails to our customers to help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but your browser may allow you to modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. If you disable cookies, you may be prevented from taking full advantage of the Services, because the Services may not function properly. As we adopt additional technologies, we may also gather additional information through other methods.
Location Information. In some cases, we collect and store information about where you are located, such as by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation. We may ask you to grant us access to your mobile device's geolocation data. If you grant such permission, we may collect information about your precise geolocation.
We may receive information about you from other Services users, such as when they include information about you in Content or when they refer you to the Services.
Notice to Non-Users. We may process your information if we receive it from our users through certain features available on the Services, such as when users share their contact lists photos and videos with us. We process this information even if you're not a Services user and don't have an account with us. This information may include your name and phone number, and we may use this information to suggest accounts for the user to follow and investigate suspicious activity on the Services and keep our platform safe and secure. For users who opt in, we may also perform facial recognition analysis on their shared photo and video content, which will contain biometric information of individuals featured in such media files. Users can also invite non-users to use the Services.
We may use your information for any of the following purposes:
We may combine information that we collect from you through the Services with information that we obtain from affiliated and non-affiliated third parties, and information derived for any other products or services we provide.
We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the Services. We may use de-identified or aggregated data for any purpose, including for research and marketing purposes and may also share such data with any third parties.
Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Company may use your Content, in aggregated and de-identified form, to train and improve AI models and platform algorithms, provided that such training does not include personally identifiable information without explicit user consent.
We may disclose your information to the following entities. Our practices may vary depending on the type of information.
Your Content. Your Content is public by default, so when you provide us with Content, any other user can view it. The Services may provide tools to restrict the audiences able to see your Content, but you should assume that anything you publish is publicly accessible unless you have explicitly selected otherwise. We cannot control the actions of other users or third parties with whom you may choose to share your Content, so Content you share publicly may be copied and shared throughout the Internet. Your Content is posted and transmitted to others at your own risk.
In addition, we integrate with third parties to process Content on our Services, such as third party artificial intelligence model providers, and those model providers may retain copies of and further use without restriction the Content we send to them or which they process. The collection and processing of your Content will be subject to the privacy policies of these third parties, and not this Policy.
We may use third-party analytics on the Services. These service providers use the sort of technology described in the "Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies" section above to help us analyze how users use the Services, including by noting the third-party website from which you arrive. The information collected by the technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers, who use the information to evaluate your use of the Service. We also use Google Analytics for certain purposes related to advertising, as described in the following section. To prevent Google Analytics from using your information for analytics, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
We may allow certain third parties (e.g., ad networks and ad servers such as Google Analytics) to serve tailored marketing to you and to access their own cookies or other tracking technologies on your computer, mobile phone, or other device you use to access the Services. We neither have access to, nor does this Policy govern, the use of cookies or other tracking technologies that may be placed on your computer, mobile phone, or other device you use to access the Services by non-affiliated, third-party ad technologies, ad servers, ad networks or any other non-affiliated third parties. Those parties that use these technologies may offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising as described below. You may receive tailored advertising on your computer through a web browser. Cookies may be associated with de-identified data linked to or derived from data you voluntarily have submitted to us (e.g., your email address) that we may share with a service provider in hashed, non-human-readable form.
If you are interested in more information about tailored browser advertising and how you can generally control cookies from being put on your computer to deliver tailored marketing, you may visit the Network Advertising Initiative's ("NAI") Consumer Opt-Out Link and/or the Digital Advertising Alliance's ("DAA") Consumer Opt-Out Link to opt-out of receiving tailored advertising from companies that participate in those programs. To opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising or customize Google Display Network ads, you can visit the Google Ads Settings page. Please note that to the extent advertising technology is integrated into the Services, you may still receive advertising content even if you opt out of tailored advertising. In that case, the advertising content will just not be tailored to your interests. Also, we do not control any of the above opt-out links and are not responsible for any choices you make using these mechanisms or the continued availability or accuracy of these mechanisms. If your browsers are configured to reject cookies when you visit this opt-out page, or you subsequently erase your cookies, use a different computer or change web browsers, your NAI or DAA opt-out may no longer be effective. Additional information is available on NAI's and DAA's websites, accessible by the above links.
Company does not recognize or respond to browser-initiated Do-Not-Track signals. Learn more about Do Not Track.
You have certain choices with respect to your information:
We use a combination of physical, technical, and organizational security measures designed to protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no data transmission or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot ensure the security of information during its transmission between you and us.
You play a critical role in protecting your information by maintaining up-to-date computer security protections. Steps you take to ensure the security of your computer, computer passwords, or other personal identifier authentication mechanisms are key components of the protection of your personal information. You agree that you are responsible for any additional verification procedures and security you deem necessary.
We will retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for the other purposes set out in this Policy. We also store information when necessary to comply with contractual and legal obligations, when we have a legitimate interest to do so (such as improving and developing the Services, and enhancing the safety, security, and stability of the Services). We may also store your information in order to defend or ascertain our legal rights, respond to valid legal requests, in the context of a merger/acquisition or in order to implement our Terms of Use or our other legal agreements with you.
In all cases, in addition to the purposes, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the information, as well as the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your information, in determining how long to retain information.
The Services may contain links to, or embedded content or plugins from, third-party websites or services. If you choose to use these sites or services, you may disclose your information not just to those third parties, but also to their users and the public more generally depending on how their services function. Because these third-party websites and services are not operated by us, we are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites or services. The collection, use, and disclosure of your personal and other information will be subject to the privacy policies of the third-party websites or services, and not this Policy. We urge you to read the privacy and security policies of these third parties.
The Services are not intended for children under age 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that a child under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.
Your information may be processed by us in the United States, where data protection and privacy regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in other parts of the world, such as the European Union. By using the Services, you understand and agree to the transfer of your information to the United States, where it may be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities.
California's "Shine the Light" law, Cal. Civil Code section 1798.83, requires certain businesses to respond to California customers' inquiries about the categories of personal information (as defined in that statute) that are shared for third parties' direct marketing purposes over the prior calendar year. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. These changes will be reflected in the most current Policy, which is available through the Services. If we make a material change to this Policy, we will notify you as required by law. Your continued use of the Services following any changes signifies your acceptance of our Policy as modified.
If you have questions or concerns about this Policy and our privacy practices, contact us at support@dipper.com.
